4 Healthy Food Trends to Follow in 2017

As we enter a new year, a few food trends will follow.

Here are 4 healthy foods to follow in 2017:

1.  Jackfruit

This fruit is being used as a meat substitute! It can be “pulled” and tossed in barbecue sauce. Jackfruit is a good source of potassium, contains fiber and is low in unhealthy fat.

2. Venison

Deer meat is showing up at more eateries and for good reason. It has less saturated fat compared to ground beef and cutting saturated fat can lower your risk of premature death.

3. Octopus

This lean protein has less fat than chicken breast & 3xs as much zinc for your immune system.

4. Sauerkraut

Fermented foods, like sauerkraut, may function as probiotics. Be sure to opt for the lacto-fermented version in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.
