Cheese Lovers, Rejoice!

New research shows that eating aged cheeses may improve your health & lead to a longer life.

Aged cheese has spermidine which helps prevent disease by destroying damaged cells in the body. Study participants who had higher spermidine intake were more likely to have:

  • Low blood pressure
  • Lower risk of heart failure
  • Reduced risk of heart disease

The mediterranean diet is a popular diet that has high levels of spermidine and is considered to be excellent for anti-aging. But the type of cheese you eat matters… since too much fat content can counteract the positive effects of spermidine. It’s best to eat hard, aged cheeses that have a lower fat content.
