Environmentally Friendly Food Labels Coming Soon

Don’t you hate food labels that leave a sticky residue on your eats?

Well, food retailers in Europe are trying a new, environmentally sustainable method for IDing products like sweet potatoes, and avocados.

Get ready for laser generated branding! Retailers like Swedish supermarket ICA are creating huge savings in plastic, energy and CO2 emissions with these “laser tattoos”. The next step will involve trying out the labeling method on products with edible skins. If customers go for it, the possibilities could be endless and the practice could become more widespread across Europe and the rest of the globe.
