Sales for bottled water beat out soda sales by volume for the first time ever in 2016. That probably explains why beverage giant Pepsico has decided to use their super-expensive, Super Bowl spot to launch a new premium bottled water brand: Lifewtr.
That’s right! No Mountain Dew, no Pepsi, no Doritos.
Lifewtr will be the only Pepsico brand getting an actual commercial during the game.
They’ll have to sell the virtues of their electrolyte PH-balanced, reverse osmosis purified luxury water product to one of the biggest audiences in the world.
It’s beautiful seeing the actions of conscious consumers influencing the decisions of corporate America, particularly when related to a high-profile event like the Super Bowl. Way to make an impact, people!
