Amazing Photos Of Killer Fast Food!

Who says there’s no place for food in the arts? I mean just look at those breathtaking Apples and Oranges by Cézanne and Warhol’s poppy Campbell’s soup patterns.

Following in this tradition, German/Austrian photography duo Ilka & Franz have stepped onto the scene with a new, hilarious, series of pictures they’ve fittingly decided to call “Tragic Murder Of A Hamburger.”

The series deals with the serial murdering of a bunch of fast food favorites: A taco being viciously sawed in half; a cheeseburger brutally shot down on an alleyway; a piece of cake suffering the tragic fate of a hit-and-run.

Definitely the contrast between the soft pastels and the scenes themselves makes for a curious dynamic, but for sure, the most interesting parallel is the one between the gruesomeness of what’s depicted and the actual nutritional terrors some of these foods inflict on those who eat them.

What does the art critic in you see?
