Italian Escapade With a Veggie Twist

Dreaming of an Italian escapade?

If leafy greens and vegan-fare are your thing, Turin might be your dream destination

The northern Italian city is known for cars, soccer and, as of recently, vegetarianism. Earlier this year the mayor announced plans to turn Turin into Italy’s first vegetarian city. Boasting a catalog of more than 30 vegan or vegetarian restaurants.

Turin is already Italy’s best bet for a meatless night out on the town. Proponents are quick to point out that this is not about clashing with the meat industry. Or forcing people to eat a certain way.

But rather part of a larger plan to promote environmental issues and make the city more sustainable.
