New research shows each glass of white wine per day increases the risk of melanoma by 13%.
Melanoma is the most serious kind of skin cancer. Wondering why white wine was the main culprit? Certain white & red wines have higher levels of naturally-occurring acetaldehyde, a known carcinogen. But the antioxidants in red wine can offset the cancer risks, while white wine doesn’t have that power.
It’s recommended that adults consume alcohol in moderation. Women should limit themselves to one drink per day and men should have no more than two drinks per day.
