If you’re hopping on a plane to get to your holiday destination, you’ll surely want to step off that flight looking glowing and glamorous to greet friends and relatives. As a little gift to you, KnowMore.tv asked Joanna Vargas, celebrity skin care guru to stars like Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz, for her best in-flight skin saving secrets.
Is there something you can do before a flight to help your skin?
JV: “I like to prepare well in advance for any vacation or business trip because I can get stressed if I leave everything for the last minute. And as we all know, stress makes a mess of your skin. So try to pack well in advance.”
What can you do in the airport to help prep your face for flight?
JV: “Once I get past security, I buy myself a water. If I’m running late, I order one the moment I sit down. You can also have soda water or green tea. Push the button and ask for seconds if you feel you need it. I do anything to stay hydrated.”
Is there any skin care routine you can do quickly in flight?
What should you pack to keep a good skin routine going while at the hotel or visiting friends? Please don’t tell us to wash with that slimy bar soap on the sink!?
JV: “Your skincare routine is vital, so don’t forget to pack the basics – a face wash, exfoliator, and a moisturizer.”
What’s the one thing that most people forget to pack?
JV: “Sunscreen. This is especially true if you’re going to a beach or a sunny location.”
Since you are what you eat, what can you eat on vacation or on a business trip to help your skin?
JV: “I like to eat a healthy meal. Lean proteins and vegetables work. This gives your body the building blocks to repair itself and the nourishment for great looking skin. If you have a juice bar, order a green juice to load up on antioxidants.”
