No more awkward silences at dinner.
Here are some tips to help you be the perfect guest for your Thanksgiving dinner.
1. Mentally prepare your answers
Get read for questions like, “how’s life treating you?”. Have 2-3 points to respond with like ,”I just got a new job”. But make sure not to come off like you are bragging.
2. Don’t be a food critic
As the saying goes: if you have nothing to say, don’t say anything at all. Instead be thankful for the time and effort your host put into cooking and eat the food.
3. Find a buddy
Try to sit directly across from someone you know, they won’t judge you if you spill a little gravy on your shirt while eating.
4. Do as the family does
Go with the flow on any family traditions like if they hold hands and say a prayer.
5. Take is easy on the booze
A glass of wine or two is okay, but you don’t want to be remembered as the guest who was too drunk to even sit at the dinner table.
